Dewas Visit
13/10/2010

An industrial visit was organized to Suzlon Wind Mill Power Plant, on 2nd of March 2012 at Dewas. The cost of project developed was Rs 400 crore/MW and yearly production cost is Rs 25 lacks/Windmill unit, which is of estimated cost around 6 crores. Student learned how the data is calculated with the help of PLC-SCADA, which is the latest technology in Electrical Engineering. With the help of PLC-SCADA one can control the power generated and transmitted from a distinct place away from the generating station. As in case of suzlon the control is done from Maharashtra to operate the wind mill in M.P. Dewas Power is stepped up and transmitted at 33 KV to MPEB Bhopal. Student also came to know that Suzlon Foundation has steadily increased its involvement in Madhya Pradesh. It has focused on fields of civic amenities, education, livelihood generation, health and environment. A large number of these projects are focused on Palsodi, Jaora and Dewas. Different projects such as increasing women literacy and distribution of solar lanterns have made a considerable impact on society. Currently, approx 10 projects have been undertaken or initiated in this area. These projects have been executed in association with Civil Society organizations, through government initiatives or through direct implementation by the Foundation.
